  4.             version 3.05.  It will ONLY upgrade version 3.04.

  18. What is needed to upgrade
  19. =========================
  20.  
  21.   1.  An un-modified, registered, STalker 3 Master Disk, version 3.04.
  22.  
  23.   2.  A hard disk or a blank formatted floppy disk (to place the
  24.       STALK305.PRG and STALK305.DAT on).

  27. How to upgrade your STalker version 3.04 to version 3.05
  28. ========================================================
  29.  
  30.   1.  Make sure you have made a backup copy of the STalker 3 Master Disk.
  31.  
  32.   2.  Place the STALK305.PRG and STALK305.DAT on your hard disk or on the
  33.       blank floppy disk (it may need the extra disk space to write some
  34.       temporary files, depending on free memory.)
  35.  
  36.   3.  Run the STALK305.PRG and follow the on-screen prompts.
  37.  
  38.   4.  Once you have finished upgrading your master disk to version 3.05,
  39.       make a backup copy of this newer version.
  40.  
  41.   ** VERY IMPORTANT STEP, READ CAREFULLY **
  42.  
  43.   5.  To install the newer version on your system, you MUST replace the
  44.       following STalker 3.04 files in your system with the 3.05 version
  45.       files from the newly upgraded disk. You can either do this from the
  46.       desktop, or by using the INSTALL.PRG on the STalker disk:
  47.  
  48.       \STALKER.ACC
  49.       \STALKER.PRG    (copied from STALKER.ACC on the master disk)
  50.       \STALKER.RSC
  51.  
  52. If you get an error message
  53. ===========================
  54.  
  55.   If your STalker 3 Master Disk has been modified in any way (including
  56.   moving files around), the patch program will not be able to perform the
  57.   upgrade.  You will get an error message indicating that this has
  58.   happened.  In this case, you should mail us the disk so that we can
  59.   upgrade it.

  61.   To have your disk upgraded by us, you need to:
  62.  
  63.   1.  Send in your original, registered, STalker 3.04 Master Disk.
  64.   2.  If you did not purchase the patch disk directly from us, enclose a
  65.       U.S. check for $5 + $2 shipping & handling ($7 total).
  66.   3.  Enclose a note with your name, address, and daytime phone number.
  67.  
  68.   In return you will receive the upgraded 3.05 Master Disk. If you have
  69.   already purchased this patch disk from us for $5, please just include
  70.   your original disk and $2.

  76.   o FPATCH1.PRG

  78.     This program is for the Falcon only, with TOS versions 4.04 and older.
  79.     It corrects some problems in the routines for accessing the serial
  80.     port and the DSP. If you are using STalker on a Falcon, you MUST use
  81.     this program in your AUTO folder.
  82.  
  83.   o STalker has a number of messages that can be sent to it from other
  84.     applications and desk accessories, allowing it to perform operations at
  85.     their request. If you are a programmer, consult STKRMSGS.H for more
  86.     info.

  89. Changes for STalker 3.05
  90. ========================
  91.  
  92.   o On a Falcon, the Blitter chip is completely ignored. This avoids a bug
  93.     in TOS 4.04 that causes it to change the color palette at an odd time.
  94.  
  95.   o The Transfer window will never open up within the desktop menu bar.
  96.  
  97.   o NUL characters will not be added to a file capture if Echo Typed
  98.     Characters is enabled.
  99.  
  100.   o Made a change to improve overall throughput, as compared to 3.04.
  101.  
  102.   o The size and position of the window, as saved in the INF file, are now
  103.     strictly obeyed when STalker first runs.
